How could I explain in a few words, a project that took me more than 2000 hours of work, editing, and passionably elaborated over a 2 year filming process?!
To start off, I could say that I am NOT making a movie only to showcase 360 tricks, but a video that will be fun to watch the first time, even more enjoyable the second and so on. I like to see it as a video that will be good to watch before going skating or in those rainy and snowy days where you can’t go skating. Here is my goal, present my project to the people, and make it something they will be proud to be a part of….

Concerning the concept I worked on for this project, two words simplify everything : no profile. The sections are related to the tricks and what’s featured, like night session, park, creative, technical, and so on. This editing process creates a constant diversity in all the edits and makes the video a extraordinary series of sweet ”montages” making the film interesting to watch from beginnin’ to end. Editing the video this way helped me on generating an strong emphasis on all the particular aspects of our beautiful sport withtout having to roll-up series of repetitive tricks. I also think that this kind of editing makes every edit good to watch since you don’t ”automaticly have to enjoy” every skaters style…

There is troughout this movie more than 30 edits including a bunch of interesting bonus material. Line section, ”artistic” tricks, hammer section, two bail sections, night section, many tutorials, demos for those who prefer the ”profile type”, the 2 teasers, a section only dedicated to SAGUENAY skating (a Quebec region), etc. Including all the bonus edits, this video contains more than 60 MINUTES of footage. There is also a french tutorials in the video, so that people who don’t speak english won’t be disadvantaged in the viewing of this video.

I should add that i put all my heart and my imagination in this project. I wanted to make it something really fun and motivating to watch. I also would like to add, I believe, that with all the new concepts I tried in this movie the video producers will have to think about the structure of a typical : intro-5/6sections-bails-outro-credits etc… I don’t like to be like everybody, I like to practice a sport that I believe is REALLY DIFFERENT from all the others, and that’s why I like making a ”different kind” of videos. Why not make things different some we can see them from another angle?!?…

Humour is a big part of the video, but the pleasure of skating is generaly what is showcased with the DVD’s vibe. There are some nice surprises and also some nice memories people will have forgotten with time…
I would like to say that if the video sells good, I will to put, my heart, and my benefits on another project, maybe HD filming?! Why not!

Thank you very much
Benoit Daoust
